Obituary of Noel Edward Campbell

Noel Edward Campbell (80) passed away North of Tilma off of Summer Road on April 6, 2015. Noel was born in Ferry County, WA to Basil and Carmileta Campbell on December 30, 1934. He grew up on the Colville Reservation and at the family homestead on Tyler Road in Plummer, ID. Noel was a very interesting man. He was defined as an activist and loved his family, friends, and tribe. In the 1960’s, Noel relocated to California where he worked as a producer in film production. He was also an activist for the tribes down there. Later, Noel relocated back home. He loved to travel and drive taking several road trips all over the country anywhere from the West Coast to the East Coast. Noel will be remembered for his love of life and the Coeur d’ Alene Tribe. Noel is survived by his sister Joan Abrahamson of Nespelem, WA and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Ruth and Rosie, and his brother Peter. A Rosary was held Sunday April 26, 2015 at 7:00 pm at the Evan Abraham Longhouse in DeSmet. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on April 27, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Mission Catholic Church in DeSmet. Internment followed at the cemetery in DeSmet.
