Obituary of John Melvin Gilbertson III

John Melvin Gilbertson III (75) passed away at his home in St. Maries on May 11, 2015. He was born to John and Lucille Gilbertson in Modesto, CA on October 19, 1939. John grew up in Modesto and graduated from Hughson High School. Following graduation, he went to work for Operating Engineers where he laid asphalt. He left Operating Engineers to open his own shop called Gilbertson Fabrications where he restored antique cars. John closed his shop and retired to travel. In his travels he visited St. Maries and fell in love with the town and area. John loved fishing, guns, camping, hunting, panning for gold, and he loved watching western movies. John is survived by his daughters and sons in-law Jonna and Weston Privett of Sanger, CA, Kristin and Kevin Loveall of Hughson, CA, and Cindy Cagley of Hughson, CA. He is also survived by his sisters Janice Jackson and Barbara Wassum, 8 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
